GREENWICH GRILL

First off, I like secrets as much as the next person (I have tons) and I do like a good game of hide and seek.cough..but do I like hunting for the front door of a Restaurant?…hell no. After three attempts I finally found the entrance to Greenwich Grill on Washington St. We had made a reservation and boy was I glad we did because there was a whole two other tables eating in the entire restaurant!….to be fair we had requested the Sushi Bar, which is located downstairs..another secret!…and I guess they were busy down there (I’m always busy down there)..so we waited at the bar.

Thankfully the air conditioning was hardly working, which was fine because it was only about 98 degrees out and I like working up a good sweat before dinner. The downstairs was even warmer..thankgod..and the heat made me think of my favorite childhood story, Hansel and Gretel….We sat at one of the booths and I had to admire how they squeezed everything into this tiny spot…..oh those clever Japanese!

But…..dinner was great!…..I cant really remember exactly what I ate (Sake does that), but It was very good. The dishes came and went so fast I felt I was back visiting my mother in the Prison Cafeteria…..of course being a Japanese restaurant there weren’t Big Burly Hot Men With Tattoos serving us..oh well…later at home for that!

I would definitely recommend this place if your looking for some great Japanese food in Tribecca.

I give it three lips…..four if the air conditioning had been working.
